CarPooling was initially introduced in the U.S. in 1940s. At the time, World War I was fueling an economic crisis and promotions portrayed those driving alone as riding with Hitler.
CarPooling regained popularity in 1973 during the Oil crisis. On-going promotions were compounded with planning for HOV (High Occupancy Vehicles) Roads leading to a success stories worldwide.
Today, many Western countries use Carpooling & HOV concepts. Regionally, Dubai launched its nationalcarpool website in 2008 with high traffic rates of about 5 Million users per month.
